Obituary For Stephen A Gnospelius

Friends of Stephen Gnospelius, 84, are sad to announce his passing on February 3, 2024, at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, from heart related complications. Steve grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts.

He was the son of Alfred Gnospelius and Caroline Francis (Crossley) Gnospelius.

He is survived by his son Erik, wife Jenna, and their children Sophie, Sven, and Lee who live in Medford, OR. His daughter Priscilla and her son Mathew live in Grants Pass, OR. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Jean.

Steve graduated Tufts University, Medford, MA, with a BA and later earned an MBA from The
Wharton School in Pennsylvania. He attended ROTC while at Tufts and served as a Second
Lieutenant, ENS, Camp Lejeune, NC for the Navy. He loved recalling his many parachuting jumps
with the 88th Airborne Division.

Steve traveled the world with his various Financial Consultant jobs. His most notable career job was
time working on a Panama Canal Project. In his later years he owned a few Scandia Down Stores in
the Boston area.

Steve enjoyed reading, attending the gym, skiing, sailing, and golf. Over the years Steve enjoyed
chartering and sailing many fine trips with various friends in the Caribbean. He made it a goal
through the years to ski many of the US and Canadian Ski Areas with friends and family.

Stephen was a long time friend and companion of Linda Hamilton and the Beaudoin family of the
Laconia area. From all those who were close to Steve, he will surely be missed. A Celebration of Life
will be held at the end of June in Gilmanton, NH. If interested in joining the celebration please leave a
