Obituary For Peter H Richardson

Peter H. Richardson, 72 a longtime resident of Dracut, MA passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. With his family by his side.

Born July 12, 1951 in Boston, MA. he was the son of the late George B. Richardson and Irma (Comins) Morse and the stepson of the late Constance Richardson.

He was educated at Dracut, Winchendon, MA. and Saint Leo's College in Florida, Peter excelled in hockey, lacrosse and football with a formal tryout with the Detroit Red Wings. After college, Peter worked and managed the Family Farm, known as Beaver Brook Farm, until he sold the land to the Town of Dracut for conservation in 2015. In addition, he ran a successful painting business for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by his son Joshua and wife Nicole and grandson Sergio of Malden, MA., brother Stephen and wife Judy and their daughters, Kathryn and Marina of Maine, along with his former wife, Donna Richardson of Dracut, step brothers, John Leonard and wife Carina of Florida, Charles Leonard and wife Betty of Attleboro, MA, Cindy Lafreniere of NH and many nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepbrother Rick Leonard and his former wife Gail Malliaros-Golec. He also leaves many special friends, Eddie Sheppard, Gerry Ledoux, George Bogochow and Kathy Masterson.

Peter dearly loved his family and friends and cherished the large and often loud family and friend holiday gatherings at the Farmhouse. He particularly enjoyed summer vacations on Bustins Island in Casco Bay, ME, fishing and playing golf with his many cousins.

He was an avid historian especially regarding his knowledge of the town of Dracut and was an integral part of the Richardson family who donated their Land for the current Dracut High School and helped grow the town to what it is today.

Services are being held privately per Peter's wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date by his family. Peter was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. Donations in his memory may be made to: The Home for Little Wanderers, 72-74 East Dedham St. Boston, MA 02118.
