Kenneth “Kenny” Robert Ouellette, of Littleton, Massachusetts, passed away on February 17, 2026, at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was born on September 24, 1959, in Waltham, MA, and made Littleton his home for more than fifty years.

Throughout his life, Kenny found comfort and enjoyment in the outdoors. He spent many years boating, waterskiing, four‑wheeling, and snowmobiling, embracing the activities that brought him a sense of freedom and familiarity. He also had a deep and enduring affection for animals, especially cats. His longtime companion, his housecat ZZ, remained by his side for 23 years. Kenny also cared daily for local stray cats, a quiet act of kindness that earned him the nickname “Cat Man Dew.” He will be remembered by those who knew him for his sincerity, his routines, and the small but meaningful ways he showed compassion..

A graveside celebration of life will be held in the spring.

In honor of Kenny’s memory, donations may be made to your local humane society.

Luke Gillespie was born on April 1,1949 in Boston, MA to the late Mary (Gainey) and Dr. Luke Gillespie. He graduated from Newton High School [1] in 1966 . He lived most of his adult life in Wayland, MA and moved to Acton, MA where he died on December 18, 2025 at the age of 76.

Raised in Newton, his Grandmother Grace and aunts introduced him at a young age to his life long passion for bridge. Known as a fierce competitor at home, in 2016 he was awarded the Larry Weiss Trophy by ACBL District 25 who noted his pleasant demeanor and graciousness at the bridge table. His love for bridge continued throughout his life, donating his time to supporting the Eastern Mass Bridge Association, taking on leadership positions, and attaining Diamond Life Master.

Luke first ventured into computing at Computer Library Services, Inc. (CLSI), then networking at DEC/Digital. It was the purchase of his then employer, TCI, by Bell Atlantic that his three decade long career as an independent consultant began. An expert in communications protocols, he spearheaded the development of SS7 Front-End Processors used by Bellcore in their national 800 and Line Information database applications. He retired in 2019.

It was at CLSI that he met his wife, Debby, and impressed her with his intellect, kindness, and generosity. A devoted husband and father, he shared his skills as a card shark with his sons and coached each of their teams when young. Frustratingly fair as a coach, he had the patience of a saint and was ready to join any activity they suggested. He relished his role as “Papa”, taking his grandkids on “mystery tours,” reading tirelessly, and enjoying their many activities and accomplishments. He was immensely proud of his family.

Surviving him is his wife, Deborah Holtz and his sons and grandchildren, Earl (Ponah), Ila and Anora; Aaron (Carolyn Park), Everly and Emerson; Eric (Gina), Charlotte, Christian, and Calvin. He leaves brothers, John (Linda) and David (Michelle); his sister-in-law Signe Holtz (Ron Halvorson); his nieces and nephews, Sarah (Adam Johnson), Ian, Katherine, and John Gillespie, Loronah Thom, Kerensa (Kyle Simpson), Debne (Chris Marlette), and Stuart Thom.

In addition to his parents, Luke was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Seanna Holtz, his mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Alfred Holtz… and Mary Chung’s Restaurant in Cambridge, MA.

The family wishes to thank Joyce Odum of Always There HomeCare for her compassionate care in his last years.

A celebration of life will be held March 21, 2026 from 1pm to 4 pm at the North Andover Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or on The Michael J. Fox Foundation tribute page:

Choosing the right final rite for a loved one is an important decision. If you are considering a cremation service in Nashua, NH, it is crucial to understand and prepare for what to expect. When understanding cremation over burial, it’s essential to assess your family’s needs, cultural beliefs, and personal preferences.

Understanding Cremation

Cremation, an alternative to traditional burial, is a process where the body undergoes reduction to ashes and bone fragments through intense heat. Many find cremation a greener option. It’s a choice that aligns with sustainability values, offering a sense of ecological responsibility.

The Process

The cremation process is straightforward. After acquiring the necessary permits and paperwork, the body is prepared for cremation. It is made sure that any non-organic materials are removed before the body is put in a casket or cardboard box to be cremated.

Legal Aspects & Costs

Dealing with a loved one’s death involves navigating legal aspects too, which can be complex and confusing. Understanding these legalities as well as the associated costs is crucial. Having guidance during such unpredictable times can considerably lessen the stress and burden.

Costs

One of the reasons families choose cremation over burial is cost. A service can be as simple or elaborate as you desire, making cost flexibility a chief advantage. It’s also economically rational to consider cremation services when pre-planning one’s funeral.

Customization Options Available

Cremation offers a wide array of customization options. It allows families to control the process more comfortably, honoring their loved one in their chosen manner. Indeed, cremation serves as a fitting tribute, respecting the wishes and memories of the departed.

Memorialization

From interring the ashes in a columbarium niche or scattering them in a chosen location, to incorporating them in an urn or keepsake jewelry, several memorialization options become available post-cremation. The choice can be personal and meaningful. This flexibility offers a unique opportunity to create a bespoke ceremony that truly reflects the departed’s spirit.

Emotional Aspect

Grieving is a profound emotional journey. In this difficult period, it’s essential to consider how cremation might impact your healing process. Finding the right support can provide comfort and aid in steering through this emotional voyage.

In the throes of grief and loss, deciding between cremation and burial is hardly easy. Remember, what matters most is your comfort and peace, not others’ preferences. Now that you know what to expect when considering requiem services such as the cremation service in Nashua, NH, you are empowered to make an informed choice.

In recent years, cremation service in Lowell, MA, and other parts of the country have seen a significant upsurge in popularity. With this shift in preference, it’s crucial to comprehend what these services entail and how they play a pivotal role in commemorating the lives of our loved ones. Beyond providing a final resting place, these services offer families a chance to personalize memorable send-offs that genuinely reflect the individualities and unique life journeys of their departed loved ones.

A Greener Choice

In an environmentally conscious world, cremation services rank high because they leave minimal ecological imprint compared to traditional burials. They eliminate the need for caskets, burial vaults, and plots, reducing the land and resources used.

Flexibility in Memorialization Services

Cremation offers flexibility in arranging memorial services. The ceremonies can be held immediately or weeks later at a preferred location like home, church, or cemetery. It allows families to organize a personalized, unique service aligning with their emotional readiness and desires.

Space for Personalized Tributes

Traditional burials leave less room for personalization. In contrast, cremation allows for numerous unique tribute options. Ashes can be divided into keepsake urns for family members or made into jewelry. The ashes can even be used to grow a memorial tree, a living tribute that blossoms over time.

Budget Friendly

For many families facing the loss of a loved one, the cost can be an overwhelming concern. Cremations generally incur fewer costs than a full traditional burial due to fewer requirements, making it a practical choice for families seeking more affordable options without compromising the integrity of their last rites.

Alleviating the Burden on Families

Cremation services alleviate the logistical burden on grieving families. The process relieves the pressure of immediate planning and hosting a funeral service within a short timeframe. This necessary breathing space can nurture the grieving process.
