November 7, 1942 – July 19, 2025
Linda Laverne Bersani (née Blauvelt), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on November 7, 1942, in Medford, Massachusetts, Linda was the cherished second daughter of Paul and Phyllis Blauvelt. Linda is survived by her son, Paul Scott Bersani
(“Scott”); her daughter, Tracee Lynne Bersani Collins; her son-in-law, Jeff Collins; her grandchildren, Justin Robert Collins and Caroline Madison Collins; and her sisters, Polly Flesch and Judy Sellers. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in Acton, Clinton, and across the globe whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and wisdom.
At the age of 21, Linda married Robert Richard Bersani (divorced circa 1978). Together, they began a life that took them across the country, living in California, Hawaii, and Massachusetts—experiences that helped shape Linda’s deep love for adventure and enduring curiosity about the world.
Linda was a devoted and loving mother to her two children: her son, Paul Scott Bersani—known as “Scott”—and her daughter, Tracee Lynne Bersani Collins. She poured her heart into caring for Scott and nurturing Tracee, and later her grandchildren, with unwavering love, wisdom, and strength. Her bond with her family was the center of her life.
Professionally, Linda was proud of her long and accomplished career. She was employed by Digital Equipment Corporation for twenty years, beginning in 1980 as a secretary at the Mill in Maynard, Massachusetts. Through dedication and hard work, she rose to become a program administrator in DEC’s Global Marketing Group. During her final ten years at Digital, she traveled extensively to destinations such as Hong Kong, Sydney, South Africa, and Beijing. She retired when Compaq acquired Digital and moved its headquarters from Maynard to Houston, Texas.
Following her time at Compaq, Linda began a new chapter in Clinton, Massachusetts, where she lived and worked at The Woodlands. As a property and program manager, she made an indelible impact on that community and formed many lasting
friendships. Her leadership, warmth, and personal touch helped make The Woodlands not just a place to live, but a true community.
Linda eventually returned to Acton, where she continued to live a life of meaning and service. She worked well into her 70’s as a beloved school bus driver for special needs children and driver for the elderly, roles she found both fulfilling and joyful. Earlier in her life, she also pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by founding the Assabet Valley Delivery Service in the 1980s—a testament to her energy, independence, and creativity.
She adored being a grandmother to Justin Robert Collins (age 20) and Caroline Madison Collins (age 19), and she made frequent trips to see them in Cape Cod, Calgary, and Florida. Summers on Cape Cod with Tracee, Scott, and the grandchildren stand out as defining moments in their lives—full of laughter, salty air, and shared joy. These cherished memories remain at the heart of her family’s story.
Linda was happiest outdoors walking the conservation lands of Acton, birdwatching, or enjoying the beach. She shared that love of nature and discovery with her family, taking them on countless adventures, often with a seaside, or sometimes a boat nearby.
Linda was a steady, loving presence—a source of strength, compassion, and insight. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely.
Mom – you are always a part of my life and in my thoughts. Love eternal, Tracee
