Steven Ganier, 48, passed away December 7th 2024 succumbing to his years of battling with addiction.
Steven was loved by all that met him. His empathy and sincere soul touched anyone that crossed paths with him.
He definitely left his mark on many people, whether it was a silly joke or nickname, words of wisdom and advice or just being someone that would listen when you need it.
Steven was so proud of his son Steven for the man, father and husband he grew up to be. He will no doubt be watching over Steven and his wife Taylor and his Grandsons Kylen and Braylen of Bennington, VT.
Steven is also survived by his parents Pattie and Bill Ganier of Punta Gorda, FL. His brother Keith Ganier and wife Kelley Ganier of Billerica. His sister Veronica Squires. His brother Bill Ganier and his wife Caroline Ganier of Nottingham, NH. His sister Denise Ganier and her partner Chris Jackson of Fitchburg. As well as 8 nieces and nephews.

D. Marilyn Larson, 88, of 25A Lund Drive, formerly of Fremont, NH and Nokomis, FL, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a brief illness.

She was born July 23, 1936, in Exeter, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Harry S. and Helen W. (Walsh) Miller.

Marilyn had careers in banking, the travel industry, real estate and the managing partner of Larson Technologies. She dedicated her life to her family as a nurturing and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and aunt. Marilyn and Bob raised a blended family in Fremont where they loved celebrating holidays with family and friends. They especially loved hosting annual Thanksgiving celebrations where friends and relatives from near and far, gathered to enjoy one another’s company and Bob’s epic turkey! They are also remembered for hosting exciting Easter egg hunts on their beautiful property by the river for their grandchildren.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, traveling, and camping. She also enjoyed many crafty pursuits including knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch. She was an accomplished seamstress.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Larson, with whom she recently celebrated fifty years of marriage; seven children: Debra Bacon (Guy Conrad) of Fremont, NH; John Pickard (Sandy) of Lee, NH; Edward Pickard (Cindy) of Pittsfield, NH; Frank Pickard of Exeter, NH; Jennifer Larson (Charlie Comtois) of Hudson, NH; Angela Larson of Dracut, MA; ten grandchildren: Justin Pickard (Ivy Penaredondo) of Antioch, TN; Kristin Knope (Justin) of Houston TX; Melissa Corriveau (Michael) of Concord, NH; Eric Pickard (Annie) of Suncook, NH; Jeffrey Bacon (Melissa Cote) of Rochester, NH; Victoria Richards (Patrick McCarthy) of Lowell, MA; Andrew Richards (Marisa Santarelli) of Kingston, NH; Samaya Thapa of Dracut, MA; Anisha Thapa of Dracut, MA; nine great-grandchildren: Isaac, Cronin and Thomas Corriveau; Matthew, Vaddon and Ryland Knope; Jackson Bacon, Nayomie Cote and Syda Pabon; and many cherished cousins and relatives. Marilyn was predeceased by daughter Julie A. Larson and granddaughter Sarah Jane Pickard.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the People’s United Methodist Church, 408 Main Street, Fremont, NH 03044 from 1:00 to 4:00.

Richard B. Salmonsen Jr., a loving father, husband, grandfather, friend, storyteller, and lifelong jokester, passed away on November 7th surrounded by family. Better known as Ricky, he was born on July 17, 1957 in Worcester, MA and attended St. John’s Preparatory School, College of the Holy Cross, and Boston College. While at Holy Cross, Ricky met his wife, Dianne, a fellow struggling chemistry major, the very first day of freshman year. After earning his masters degree in chemistry, Rick tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit before excelling as a medical salesman for 30+ years.

Ricky had a larger than life personality which was shared with his family and friends. A natural storyteller, Ricky was known for making everyone around him laugh so hard they cried, recounting the same funny stories (some a bit embellished) over and over again and reciting stats from high school basketball games played 20+ years prior.

Some of his favorite pastimes included coaching his kids’ youth sports teams, spending hours in his beautiful garden, enjoying Tonno’s bluefin tuna and sipping on Grand Marnier margaritas. He loved kayaking around Cape Ann, watching Hallmark Christmas movies (sometimes out of season) and rocking in his La-Z-Boy with his best friend and grandson Bodie.

Ricky was a lifelong sports fan and attended as many Boston sports games and Masters Tournaments as possible. He enjoyed reading the sports page of the Globe (and only the sports page), waiting in the longest of lines for sports tickets, golfing with his friends and teaching his kids to ski. His favorite teams included the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, and whichever teams his kids were on. Ricky made sure he was in the sea of green as the duck boats made their way down Cambridge St. celebrating banner #18.

An avid gardener, he was particularly fond of hellebores, shasta daisies, rose of sharon, gazanias and his impressive collection of lace cap and limelight hydrangeas. A favorite pastime was cruising Stacy Boulevard with his family and their dog Monty to enjoy the dahlias planted by the Generous Gardeners. His memory will live on with his gorgeous year-round perennial garden and carefully chosen rocks from his favorite beaches.

Over the past 4.5 years, Ricky displayed remarkable courage, determined to embrace every precious moment. He celebrated three of his children’s weddings and held his grandson for the first time—milestones he proudly experienced. Despite the pain and suffering cancer caused, these joyful moments gave him strength to keep going, forever inspiring his family.

While in hospice, Ricky developed a love for singing and songwriting, a new talent appreciated by all within ear shot. His songs became a gift not only to his family and long-time friends but also to the compassionate team at Kaplan House, who shared in his laughter and conversation through some of his most challenging days.

Though Ricky faced numerous obstacles over the past several years, one thing remained constant: his deep love for his family. His essence—full of humor and warmth—left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Even in the face of hardship, Ricky’s ability to create meaningful connections and lasting memories was a testament to his unique spirit.

Ricky’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be remembered not just for the challenges he overcame, but for the way he touched the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. Rick was predeceased by his parents Pat and Dick and his beloved dog Monty. He is survived by his wife Dianne, his children Breezy (husband Reuben and son Bodie), KK, Mycala (husband Zach), and Woody (wife Meghan); his siblings, Cathy (Gary) Adkison, Mark (Nancy) Salmonsen, Steven (Mary) Salmonsen, and Julie (Jack) Jones; brother-in-law Bill (Colleen) Wood and his nieces and nephews.

Ricky’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 21st at the Elks at Bass Rocks – Atlantic Room – in Gloucester, MA from 1-4pm. We will share stories and enjoy some of Ricky’s favorite foods & drinks. No formal dress or black please; Ricky loved sweatpants and casual clothes so come in comfy & colorful wear. All who love our dad are welcome to come!

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, tax deductible contributions be made in Ricky’s name to the Generous Gardeners of Gloucester and the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers.

Kayee Vincent, 78, passed away on September 23, 2024, following complications from pancreatitis and cardiac arrest. She was born on March 1, 1946 in Hainan, China, and grew up in Hong Kong before eventually moving to the United States, where she built a life surrounded by family and friends.

Kayee worked for many years at General Electric, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She had a deep love for animals and cherished the company of her furry companions throughout her life. Kayee also made close friendships through her love of bingo, her annual work at the Topsfield Fair, various volunteer initiatives in Seabrook and surrounding communities and forming lasting bonds with the people she worked alongside. Her friends from the fair, bingo, and the community will remember her warmth and kindness.

She is survived by her daughter Alexandria Regan, son-in-law Scott, and their two sons, Max and Harrison; as well as her daughter Renee Vincent Beasley, son-in-law Marcus, and their two daughters, Rose and Coral. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made throughout her life.

Amadee Joseph Castenell Jr., 74, of Lawrence, Ma passed away on 9/26/2024, surrounded by loving family. Amadee was born April 19th, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Amadee Castenell Sr & Gloria Barzon.

Amadee graduated from St Augustine in 1968, then went on to pursue an illustrious career in the music industry. Amadee is survived by his wife Priscilla, and his children Nicole, Erica, Jesse, Alicia, and Amadee as well as many grandchildren.

Our mom’s journey ended on the day of a rare Blue Super Moon, a poetic close to her full and meaningful life.

Mary was a private person; her quiet strength and love of solitude spoke volumes about the unique person she was. She was a pragmatic yet forward thinker; a wonderful, thoughtful, and caring person. She was a woman of boundless generosity, always giving to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with a heart full of love. She delighted in staying connected with their busy lives, eager to hear about their latest adventures, milestones, and accomplishments; she was proud of each of them.

Mary, raised from infancy, by her grandparents, Criscuolo Colucci and Francis Collucci in Lynn, MA. Her grandparents were of Italian descent, hailing from Naples and Rociano, respectively. Mary, known to her Colucci family as June, enjoyed cooking alongside her grandmother and later passed down her delicious Italian recipes for all to enjoy.

As a child, Mary loved ice skating. Her love for this sport continued through her teenage years, and into adulthood, she was quite the performer on ice. She also enjoyed listening to opera broadcasts from the MET and translating episodes of ‘I Love Lucy’ for her good-humored grandmother. Growing up Mary was surrounded by loving aunts and uncles, whom she adored. Her saddest memory as a child was losing her beloved Uncle Alvaro in World War II. Her fondest memories were traveling to Boston with her Aunt Aurora.

Mary attended St Mary’s High School, she was an excellent student, she received accolades for her speech in the ‘Voice of Democracy’ competition and graduated Class Salutatorian in 1953. Mary met her high school sweetheart, Roland St. Pierre at St. Mary’s, they married August 8, 1954, and welcomed three daughters and a son into the world, they were fortunate to share 64 years together. Roland passed in 2018 having provided well for his “bride” and family.

Mary was a wonderful full-time mom in the early years of marriage. Caring and dedicated to her family, she tended to everyone with love. She was a skilled dressmaker and somehow found the time to tailor clothes for her children, nieces, and herself while raising her young family. She loved design and decorating as well. An avid, if not voracious reader, she read works from Danielle Steele to Tolstoy and could easily read 2-3 books a week.

Mary’s home was a type of “hub.” Christmas Eve is where family and friends gather to celebrate the holiday; guests often stay until the wee hours of Christmas morning. Her grandchildren still recall the magic of the holidays at her home. Neighborhood children would stop in for lunch at Mrs. St. Pierre’s home.

Summer boating excursions and fall foliage trips around the Kancamagus Highway in NH were a couple of her favorite pastimes and once Mary and Roland’s children were adults they traveled to Europe, California, Hawaii, and Bermuda. Mary and Roland were indeed “hoofers” a la Fred and Ginger, Roland never shy, and Mary was happy to take his hand for a spin on the dance floor.

Mary worked in Salem, at Daniel Lowe & Co., as a clerk and accountant. She was a Eucharistic minister at the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem and enjoyed decorating the alter for the holiday seasons she treasured sharing with her community. As a Hospice volunteer in the 1990’s she visited and comforted terminally ill Salem residents.

Mary, predeceased by her husband Roland, who she missed until the very end, and her cherished family dog, Dama. She is survived by her children, Catherine St. Pierre, and her husband, Paul Savasta, Terryanne St. Pierre and her husband, George Fallon, Cynthia St. Pierre, and Marc St. Pierre and his partner Joseph Jefferies. Her grandchildren Stephanie Savasta, her partner Jared Patterson, Joseph Savasta, and his fiancée Melissa Simons, Caroline Savasta, Erik Sayce his wife Jennifer Pullen, two great grandchildren, Olivia Savasta Patterson, and Margo Sayce. Mary was deeply cherished; her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. All services are private.

Peter H. Richardson, 72 a longtime resident of Dracut, MA passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. With his family by his side.

Born July 12, 1951 in Boston, MA. he was the son of the late George B. Richardson and Irma (Comins) Morse and the stepson of the late Constance Richardson.

He was educated at Dracut, Winchendon, MA. and Saint Leo’s College in Florida, Peter excelled in hockey, lacrosse and football with a formal tryout with the Detroit Red Wings. After college, Peter worked and managed the Family Farm, known as Beaver Brook Farm, until he sold the land to the Town of Dracut for conservation in 2015. In addition, he ran a successful painting business for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by his son Joshua and wife Nicole and grandson Sergio of Malden, MA., brother Stephen and wife Judy and their daughters, Kathryn and Marina of Maine, along with his former wife, Donna Richardson of Dracut, step brothers, John Leonard and wife Carina of Florida, Charles Leonard and wife Betty of Attleboro, MA, Cindy Lafreniere of NH and many nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepbrother Rick Leonard and his former wife Gail Malliaros-Golec. He also leaves many special friends, Eddie Sheppard, Gerry Ledoux, George Bogochow and Kathy Masterson.

Peter dearly loved his family and friends and cherished the large and often loud family and friend holiday gatherings at the Farmhouse. He particularly enjoyed summer vacations on Bustins Island in Casco Bay, ME, fishing and playing golf with his many cousins.

He was an avid historian especially regarding his knowledge of the town of Dracut and was an integral part of the Richardson family who donated their Land for the current Dracut High School and helped grow the town to what it is today.
